Innovative Engineering
Matrax® 4×4 panels are engineered for ease of installation and maximum performance. The overlapping upper and lower flanges are reinforced with structural ribbing adding rigidity. This structural element allows for a smooth transition between the locks and along the entire length of the adjoining panels. The overlapping lips also prevent liquids and debris that may be spilled on the surface from reaching the turf below.
Superior Strength
Matrax® panels are strong and designed to withstand substantial weight loads while protecting the integrity of natural grass, synthetic and hybrid surfaces. Available in a heavy-duty (HD) and light-duty (LD), each panel distributes weight evenly to handle heavy equipment and large crowds. ADA-compliant ramps permit the access of vehicles and pedestrians.
Innovative Design and Connection
Matrax® panels utilize a vertical locking system with 4″ overlapping flanges or “lips” to interlock individual panels to one another, creating a smooth surface that is free from trip hazards.
Matrax® 4×4 HD panels can be integrated during installation with LD panels to create driving lanes and work platforms for areas requiring protection from heavy equipment and traffic.
Efficiency and Durability
Matrax® 4×4 panels are shipped to the location and stored on 4′ x 8′ pallets in a two-panel configuration making installation, removal and storage more efficient.
The cam lock component is made from a super tough nylon material that will not rust or corrode, thus ensuring a long service life. The cam lock or “pin” provides the strength necessary to allow two panels to remain locked together during handling.

Cost-Effective Alternative to Plywood
Unlike plywood, these HDPE mats will not warp, splinter or degrade, even in excessive heat and cold. Matrax® 4×8 TNG ground protection mats are easy to clean and will maintain their properties over many uses, providing a great return on investment.
Lightweight – Only 75 Lbs.
Matrax® 4×8 TNG mats are extremely lightweight enabling quick installation. At just 75 lbs., they are easy to “Throw-N-Go” and move around a job site. The light mat weight creates less stress on workers and helps to reduce freight costs.
Ergonomic hand holes, which are molded into the mats versus rough cut after production, provide ease of handling and minimize stress on the mat.
The standard translucent-white color helps keep the mat cooler in high heat and allows light to filter through, helping to mitigate damage to grass and sensitive ground cover.
Unique Tread Design
The Matrax® 4×8 TNG ground protection mats are designed with a unique, non-mirrored tread design from side A to side B. A vertical cleat line on side A aligns with a horizontal cleat line at that same location on side B. This prevents point loading and allows mats to be stacked perfectly aligned on a pallet or in a truck bed – no need to offset the mats for stacking.
The tread pattern on both sides of the mats helps provide contact with the ground and creates a safe surface for workers. Holes in all four corners allow the mats to be connected with zip ties or cleats.
Innovative Engineering
Matrax® 4×8 TNG ground protection mats are made with an injection-molding process to ensure product consistency, quality and strength. HDPE plastic has high tensile strength, chemical and heat resistance, surface hardness and abrasion resistance.
